First Day Jitters

Today was the day we spent an hour in each girls school meeting and greeting and gushing over  friends kids and "Wow he got big this summer" comments abound.

It is the "first" day of 3rd grade for Em who is 8 and the first day at elementary/middle school for my 5th grader Iz. Going to the schools, laden with all the school supplies, boxes of Clorox wipes and tissues. And of course folders, binders, pens and paper. The whole enchilada carefully labeled with my fun "P-Touch" and put away in desks. All in an hour at each school. Wrestling the car for what parking space we can find, thank goodness, I drive a relatively small hybrid. It can zip into parking spaces faster than mini vans and SUV's. HaHa. But really it is exciting to meet the teachers and administraters at the kids schools. Be nice to them and they smile back at you.

My biggest pet peeve about taking my girls out in public is their behavior. They are at that stage where anything and everything can and will start a fight. When they fight it starts average. "Mom, she did this to me", " Mom she hit me" you know. Tit for Tat. The thing that gets me is that they do it in front of people I am just meeting. I wonder what they think of my parenting skills. For me it is that I am horrified by my girls fighting. I have no idea how my mom did it. I am one of 6 kids and one of the "babies" of the family.  It drives me insane.

One day I will do what my husband has done with them and that is he has let them beat the crap out of eachother. Granted he let them do this out in the open at a parade on Memorial Day. In front of alot of my mommy friends. Yep mortifying. Maybe I will let the girls go WWF on eachother in the safety and privacy of our back yard.

Welcome to my world
